The first day was a workshop, introducing a group of younger (under 25) and older (over 50) people to social media. The second day was a social media surgery, with people from day one sharing their knowledge, lots of new people interested in learning, and some expert "surgeons" who helped everyone.

There's lots of posts about the early work of the Reporting and Promoting Project on the Generations Together blog.

This post is from the Social Media Surgery:

I was interested in Jay Jay and others' ideas about using Posterous as an easy way into blogging and generally sharing and collaborating. I've started a new project and was wondering how to easily engage others. It is true that most people are conversant with e-mail, so maybe this is a good starting place, and it maybe feels quite private and not too threatening to start writing with plenty of time to reflect before you press the send button. Or not, depending on your personal e-mail style.

Sun, 14 Feb 2010 10:28:34 -0800 Late Sunday Afternoons http://www.shanilee.org.uk/late-sunday-afternoons http://www.shanilee.org.uk/late-sunday-afternoons I love late Sunday afternoons in winter. Tucked up in the warm with a delicious dinner and a glass of wine, the last of the sun disappearing behind the poplars in the gap between the houses.

Sun, 11 Jan 2009 03:57:00 -0800 Twittering on Posterous http://www.shanilee.org.uk/twittering-on-posterous http://www.shanilee.org.uk/twittering-on-posterous

Could you post short twitter-like statements, comments etc here and engage in conversation?
Would they be easier to track than Twitter?

One of the problems with swarm teams seems to be the complexity - I can't imagine trying to teach it as an integral part of another course (the time, the confusion), especially with non-academic students.

Perhaps Posterous will address that?

Maybe Posterous/Twitter complement each other?

But where will this appear? As a comment to the previous post or as a new post?
